Margarita

Tequila, Cointreau, and fresh lime with a salted rim. Created in the late 1930s and very much at home in 1950s-60s cocktail culture.

Ingredients

  • ·2 oz blanco tequila
  • ·1 oz Cointreau
  • ·3/4 oz fresh lime juice
  • ·Salt for rim
  • ·Lime wheel to garnish

Method

Rub the rim of a coupe with lime and dip in coarse salt. Combine tequila, Cointreau, and lime juice in a shaker with ice. Shake hard and strain into the prepared glass. Garnish with a lime wheel.

Pour slowly. Sip slower.
