Cognac, Cointreau, and fresh lemon in a sugar-rimmed coupe. A 1920s Paris classic that stayed in fashion for decades. Tart, elegant, and French.

Ingredients

  • ·2 oz cognac
  • ·3/4 oz Cointreau
  • ·3/4 oz fresh lemon juice
  • ·Sugar for rim
  • ·Lemon twist to garnish

Method

Rub the rim of a coupe with lemon and dip in sugar. Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake well and strain into the prepared glass. Garnish with a lemon twist.

Pour slowly. Sip slower.
