Mint Julep
refreshing · served in a julep cup or highball

The drink of the American South. Bourbon poured over fresh mint and crushed ice in a silver cup. Slow, cold, and satisfying.
Ingredients
- ·2.5 oz bourbon
- ·1/4 oz simple syrup
- ·8-10 fresh mint leaves
- ·Crushed ice
- ·Fresh mint sprig to garnish
Method
Gently muddle mint leaves with simple syrup in the bottom of a julep cup. Fill the cup with crushed ice. Pour in the bourbon and stir until the outside of the cup frosts. Top with more crushed ice and garnish with a generous mint sprig.
Pour slowly. Sip slower.
